Snag vs BugHerd: feedback pinned to a web page, or bugs with the evidence attached

2026-10-08 ยท BugHerd pins sticky notes on a live website for clients and agencies to review. Snag captures what a developer needs to fix a bug, on web and mobile, with a coding agent in mind. Different jobs, often confused.

BugHerd is for website review: a client or a stakeholder clicks on the page, leaves a note pinned to the element, and the agency works it on a kanban board. Snag is for bugs: the person who hit the problem files it with the screenshot, the trail of steps, the console and the network, and a developer or a coding agent fixes it. If your reports come from clients looking at a site, BugHerd fits. If they come from your team using the product, Snag fits.

What BugHerd does well

The pin is the product. A reviewer clicks anywhere on the live site and the note sticks to that element, with browser and screen details attached. Guests can report without accounts, which agencies need for client review rounds. Tasks move across a kanban board, and the plans are simple: Standard at $42 a month (annual) for 5 members, Studio $67 for 10, Premium $125 for 25, with extra members at $8 monthly.

Reviewers mention weak integrations, lag on heavy pages, pins drifting when the layout changes, and price jumps between tiers. There is no free plan, a trial and a 60-day refund instead.

What Snag does differently

Evidence, not position. A pin says where; Snag's capture says how. The last clicks and navigations, the console error, the failed request and its status, and an annotated screenshot. That is what turns a report into a fix without a call.

Web and mobile on one board. BugHerd is web only. Snag's apps file from Android and iOS, and a share sheet files a screenshot from any app, into the same project as the web captures.

A reporter role. People who only report get a reporter role; they see Snag and nothing else. Members and admins triage.

Built for coding agents. An agent connected over MCP reads a snag with its context, fixes the code, marks it fixed with a note, and, with FlowQA in the workspace, runs the tests that cover the page before it says done.

What Snag does not have: a pin on the live page, anonymous guest reporting, or a client review mode. If your work is agency website review, that is the feature set you need, and BugHerd has it.
